Charity Action & Fundraising November/December
Bryntirion Comprehensive School will be supporting two charities this half term. These will be Children in Need and the BCBC Santa Appeal. To raise funds for these charities there will be two non-uniform days this half term when pupils are able to wear their own (appropriate) clothing to school. The dates for these will be Friday, 17th November (Children In Need) and a Christmas jumper day in December (date to be confirmed). We would ask for a suggested £1 voluntary donation on these two days.
The Bridgend County Borough Santa Appeal works alongside social services who support families throughout the county, ensuring that the most vulnerable children will receive a gift this Christmas. The gift bag contains age appropriate gifts consisting of one large gift along with some smaller gifts. In addition to some of the money raised from the non-uniform day, which will help to buy the main gift for the bags, as a school we will be collecting new items to contribute towards making up the remaining smaller gifts in the bags.
To ensure that a range of ages is covered by our donations we are suggesting an age range for each year group to donate towards, outlined in the table below along with suggestions for items to be donated.

The collection day for the donations will be Friday 24th November (please could pupils give any donations to their Head of Year). There is no obligation to donate, and we ask that families only do so if they feel in the position that they can. It is important to note that the gift must be new and unused. Each year group will be hearing more about this in assemblies over the next week with sample gift bags being provided by the BCBC Santa Appeal to show examples of what children receive.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
